Sasha Alexander Kaurov

Interdisciplinary researcher

I am an astrophysicist turned interdisciplinary researcher focused on science–society relations and the ways AI reshapes knowledge production, communication, and trust. My current work with Professor Naomi Oreskes (History of Science, Harvard University) examines scientific integrity. Recent research has focused on glyphosate, tracing how industry-linked science enters regulatory, academic, and public arenas (Undark, Science, NYT, WaPo).I am a co-founder of Earthlings Hub, a nonprofit initiative that develops and runs STEM programs for children affected by war and displacement.I also founded OmniScope, a science-communication project that experimented with novel media to engage public audiences with science.I received a PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the University of Chicago (2016) and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study. My academic work covered cosmology, the early universe, gravitational lensing, neutron stars, and large-scale structure. I am currently a PhD candidate at Victoria University of Wellington.
